There are a number of exciting adventures to be experienced while staying at the Leatherback Lodge. Some nearby and some not so nearby.  Have a look......

The Mermaid Pools

The Mermaid Pools are just off the next street.  This is a 10 minute drive and 30 minute hike through a clear trail.  There are 3 river pools, each one a short walk from the other.  River crossing is necessary if going to all 3 pools.

Leatherback Turtle Watching

The Leatherback Turtle nesting season commences in March and ends in August each year. Please contact Nature Seekers to book your tour in advance since they are the official tour operators for this amazing experience.  Their specially trained tour guides are extremely experienced and knowledgeable engage.

The Pool

Staying in can be just as much fun. Our 15' Intex pool is great for the kids to splash around and have fun.  While the family fire up the grill for a barbecue picnic.

The Gazebo & Barbecue

The Gazebo and Barbecue (Coal-pot) is located on lush green lawn surrounded by a variety of trees.  It's the perfect place for your family to spend quality time together. This area is exclusive to guests of the Leatherback Lodge.

Salibay Beach

Salybay Beach is located in Toco which is a 45 minute drive from the Leatherback Lodge.  Great for swimming and relaxing.

Birdwatching

Over 70 species of both native and visiting birds have been documented by avid birders.... These we spotted on the Leatherback Lodge's 5 acre property.

Rio Seco Waterfall & Pool

Rio Seco Waterfall & Pool is located in Salybia.  The fall is a 15 minute drive on the main road and another 15 minutes on a quiet country road.  This hike takes about 45-60 minutes each way, with couple small hills.
